TELESET MEXICO CHAMPIONS SUSTAINABILITY
Teleset in Mexico is making significant strides in reducing the environmental impact of their productions. From investment in LED sky panels to streamlining waste management on Enloqueciendo Contigo Season 1 and Casados Con Hijos Season 2, Teleset continues to incorporate sustainability in their productions.
The upgrade to LED sky panels is part of a broader strategy to transition away from traditional, energy-intensive lighting equipment and adopt more sustainable practices in Sony Pictures’ Latin America productions. The implementation of LED panels is projected to generate substantial energy savings, approximately 1,400,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) over the course of filming five seasons between the two shows. In environmental terms, this reduction in energy consumption translates to a decrease of around 445 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e), contributing meaningfully to Sony Pictures’ carbon reduction goals. These high-efficiency lighting systems have been used in the filming of two popular Mexican sitcoms: Enloqueciendo Contigo Season 1 and currently in Season 2 and Casados Con Hijos Season 2 both of which are being shot at Azteca Studios in Mexico.
Teleset continues to advance its sustainable practices, particularly in waste management. After the production of Casados Con Hijos 2, they donated approximately 2 tons of set materials, including fiberboard and wood, to be repurposed by other industries and diverted from the landfill. Additionally, the show made use of the principal set from a previous production, reusing it as the central location for the series.
The combined efforts exemplify a shared commitment among production teams, studios, and partners to prioritize sustainability and resource efficiency at every stage of the creative process.
