The Lady placed sustainability at the heart of its physical production, working towards a 3-star Albert BAFTA accreditation and the Green Screen Silver award through clear, measurable action. Key initiatives included the use of HVO fuel and hybrid generators, a high proportion of LED lighting, and renewable energy studio days, alongside strict waste separation with four waste streams and a zero-waste-to-landfill approach. Single-use plastics were eliminated; reusable water bottles were encouraged and catering prioritised compostable materials and reduced meat consumption through Meat-Free Wednesdays. Across departments, the production focused on renting and reusing props and costumes, donating surplus materials to charities and other productions, prioritising ALBERT-certified suppliers, and tracking carbon emissions throughout the shoot to minimise environmental impact while maintaining high production standards.
