CRACKLE (BRAZIL)
CRACKLE CINEMA GREEN
Crackle, Sony Picture Television’s premium streaming network, joined The World Bank’s Connect4Climate initiative and Fluminense Federal University (UFF) in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, to launch the Cinema Green Project, a talent discovery initiative that encouraged filmmakers to produce socially conscious short films.
The Cinema Green Project challenged film students to produce a 5-minute short film in 30 days that would raise awareness about environmental issues. The Faculty of Cinema at the University selected 20 projects and Crackle’s programming team along with the help from three internationally recognized Brazilian filmmakers and artists (Fernando Meirelles, Rodrigo Santoro and Alessandra Negrini) selected five projects to fund. The five short films premiered on Crackle.
